I, like most people, have a hard time finding shorts for the summer time that I like both the style of and the fit. These past couple weeks I’ve hit the jackpot with cute denim shorts that I am excited to style for the summer.
Spoiler: These are my favorites out of them all. I love the dark wash and length, plus they’re Levi’s! I usually don’t have very much luck at Plato’s Closet but I found these for $10.
I also purchased these from Plato’s Closet. I love the cut of American Apparel and have always wanted to purchase a pair of jeans or shorts and was lucky to find these for only $6! I’m not quite sure how I want to style these yet…maybe with a more plain graphic tee?
These are not everyone’s cup of tea but I personally like the bermudas or longer shorts trend for the summer. These are actually men’s shorts, I like that they are have a looser/ more baggy fit. I am excited to style these Guess ones that I got from the Goodwill bins last summer.
These are the perfect staple short for the summer. I think that the medium wash matches pretty much any top. I bought these off of a friend for $10 and I think she cut them from jeans which doesn’t bother me because I like the distressed look at the hem.

Jaden, I’ve never heard of Plato’s Closet, but I love the name! Did you know it’s a reference to the philosophical concept of Plato’s Cave? It was his metaphor for how limited our human perceptions are: it’s as if we’re chained to the wall of a cave, with the sun shining in over heads from behind, casting shadows on the wall in front of us. We think the shadows are all there is of reality, but there’s actually so much more that we’ll never understand. I’m sure there’s a big fat Wikipedia entry on it.

Re shorts, I’m eagerly awaiting an order from Prana with what I hope will be my new favorite summer shorts (my wife had a half-off discount coupon).

I actually hadn’t thought of that! I learned about the concept of Plato’s Cave last year in a humanities class and thought it was very interesting: thanks for bringing it up! One of the best parts of ordering clothes online is receiving the package in my opinion; it’s always exciting!

I honestly can’t believe that clothes I wore when I was a girl are now back in style. It’s amazing how the fashion cycle works. I love clothes, so each time a new era of clothing comes back into trend, I just have to buy articles I use to have as a young girl. Thanks for posting!

You have such an eye for this type of thing. I haven’t shopped at Platos closet since my whole American Eagle days but I’ll have to go and give them a shot again! Shorts are such hit and miss for me but I’ve found that the style that go well with my body type is high waisted. I love the second and last pair that you posted the most! I could image wearing these with some high top white converse and a bandeau top.

I also love high waisted bottoms, in fact their the ones ones I’ll wear😂 Plato’s Closet usually has a lot of good stuff and the prices are pretty good as well
